Coach Support

Coach Support

At Kings Town FC, we believe great players are developed by supported, educated, and motivated coaches.
Our club is committed to providing a positive coaching environment where coaches feel valued, prepared, and confident to deliver safe, engaging, and development-focused sessions.

Our Coaching Philosophy

All Kings Town FC coaches follow a player-centred, development-first approach, aligned with FA grassroots principles.

We believe coaching should:

  • Be positive and encouraging

  • Focus on long-term development, not short-term results

  • Create a safe and inclusive environment

  • Support mental well-being and confidence

  • Encourage creativity, enjoyment, and decision-making

Winning is important — but development, enjoyment, and respect come first.

Qualifications & Safeguarding Standards

Every coach at Kings Town FC is required to meet safeguarding and qualification standards, including:

  • FA Level 1 / Introduction to Coaching Football (minimum)

  • Valid FA Emergency First Aid

  • FA Safeguarding Children certification

  • Enhanced DBS check

  • Annual safeguarding refreshers

  • Adherence to FA Codes of Conduct

Our Club Welfare Officer works closely with all coaches to ensure safeguarding standards are always met.

Ongoing Coach Development

We actively support coaches in their continued development by offering:

  • Financial support towards FA coaching courses

  • Access to CPD workshops and County FA events

  • In-house mentoring and session observations

  • Shared session plans and training frameworks

  • Regular coach meetings to share ideas and challenges

Coaches are encouraged to progress through FA pathways and develop at their own pace.

Coaching Resources & Practical Support

Kings Town FC provides coaches with:

  • Training equipment (cones, balls, bibs, goals)

  • Session planning templates

  • Age-appropriate training frameworks

  • Matchday support and admin help

  • Clear communication channels with parents

We aim to reduce pressure on coaches, allowing them to focus on what matters most — the players.

New Coaches & Volunteers Welcome

We are always looking for:

  • Assistant coaches

  • Parent helpers

  • Team administrators

  • Matchday volunteers

No previous coaching experience is required.
We provide full guidance, training, and support to help you get started.

If you’re passionate about football and helping young people grow, we’d love to hear from you.
